Group Classes: Sept 20 – Dec 19

For Fall 2021, Abrons Arts Center is very excited to be offering in-person group classes in Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Dance, and more!

These group class settings will allow students to expand their talents, awaken new ones and work collaboratively with their peers in a fun and enriched setting. Classes are taught by leading artist-teachers that develop courses that expand students capabilities and result in students building both confidence and friendships.

For this semester, Abrons is also pleased to announce our new NYCHA Initiatives which gives greater access to our community and their ability to enroll in group classes this Fall. Learn more about this exciting new program below!

Opening Doors with our new NYCHA Initiatives

Abrons Arts Center believes that access to the arts is essential to a free and healthy society. To ensure this commitment, Abrons has created NYCHA Initiatives which offers students and families access to group arts classes in two ways:

NYCHA Arts Initiative

Abrons Arts Center group classes for all NYCHA residents living in zip codes 10002, 10003, 10009, and 10038 will be tuition-free (a $25 student registration fee is still required.)

For eligibility you must submit one of the following documents:

  • Current NYCHA lease that reflects registered student as a member of the household
  • State ID and proof of dependents residing in NYCHA with matching address
  • Current federal income tax return that includes dependents residing in NYCHA

Tuition Assistance

Assistance is available to households making under $50,000 annually.
All group class tuition will be 50% off for students with household income of $50,000 or less annually.
For tuition assistance eligibility, each family is required to submit a current federal income tax return or public assistance letter that reflects the registered student as a dependent.

Please note, ALL class takers (regardless of tuition assistance status) will be required to pay a $25 student registration fee.

Parent Vaccination Policy

All students requiring supervision must be accompanied by a vaccinated chaperon for pick up and drop off from Abrons classes. In the event that a parent/guardian is unvaccinated and not permitted to enter the building, the student must be joined by another vaccinated adult for pick up and drop off, and all other activities in the Abrons Arts Center building. Abrons Arts Center staff is not responsible for chaperoning students from the lobby to classrooms.
