Class Information

Hip Hop 2 builds on the skills developed in Hip Hop 1. Learners will refine their technique and be introduced to different kinds of street dances. Learners will perform choreographic  sequences and  incorporate their technique into movement storytelling.  At the end of the semester, learners will present a performance at Abrons’ annual dance and theater showcase.

About Rocka Jamez

Born and raised in Crown Heights, Brooklyn NY, Rocka Jamez is a dance community leader, who studies Krump, merging free form and contemporary dance, creating a style he calls "ContempoKrump". Achieving certain goals through his dance work, Rocka creates art in physical movement with many stories to tell. He is also the curator of a monthly Dance Event that unites all Dance styles & Cultures, @roundzofflame. As a side hobby, fashion is also a love he practices with painting and customizing garments and accessories. He also participated in multiple NYFW events, which lead to Sponsorship by Puma & Jahnkoy, magazine features in VOGUE, and the honor to perform a piece for Rihanna at The New School Awards at the Parsons School Of Design. His dream is to build a University for all dancers, bothstreet and contemporary, to help young dancers learn structure and gain benefits to help change the world's perspective on dance.
