Origins: Visual Arts is an introduction to fundamental visual art techniques and terminology. Learners will explore their self-expression through painting, collage, sculpture, and drawing all while strengthening their fine motor and language skills. At the end of the course, learners will present their artwork in Abrons’ annual spring art show.
About Ashlee Rodriguez
Ashlee Rodriguez (b. 1999 Queens, NY) lives and works in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Rodriguez graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Fine Arts and Africana, Puerto Rican and Latino Studies. Her work explores the relationship between color and emotion, informed by personal experience and inner reflection. As a teaching artist, she emphasizes process over product, encouraging experimentation and fun so that even the littlest artists can find their voice.
