Summer Arts Camp 2022
Nurture your child’s creative spark this summer at Abrons Arts Center!
Summer Arts Camp is where students can learn creative skills in visual arts, music, theater, and dance. They will work with professional arts instructors in a playful, collaborative environment to create new works, learn to work with others, and express their creativity.
Summer Arts Camp is fully in person and final presentations will be held at the end of each session through performances and exhibitions at Abrons.
Summer Arts Camp is open to students ages 5-10 years old.
We offer tuition assistance as well as free tuition for residents living in NYCHA Housing in the Lower East Side. See full details below.

- Professional teaching artists with educational backgrounds
- 1-2 field trip outings each session to NYC Museums
- Student performances/exhibitions at the end of Camp
IMPORTANT DATES & TIMES
Summer Arts Camp runs in two sessions. You can sign up for just one session or both. Camp days and hours are:
Monday – Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm
July 5 – July 21, 2022
July 25 – August 11, 2022
Monday – Thursday (for both sessions)
Drop Off | 8:30 – 9 AM
Pick Up | 4:00 – 5:00pm
Late pick-up is available between 5 – 6 PM. The late pick-up option can be purchased for $175 per session. Families will be charged $20 per day for campers who are not enrolled in the late pick-up option.
Ages 5 – 10*
*Your child must be 5 years old by July 5th, 2022 for session one and 5 years old by July 25th for session two.
SUMMER ARTS CAMP TUITION
Session 1: 3 weeks; Monday – Thursday | July 5 – July 21, 2022 | $1,305
Session 2: 3 weeks; Monday – Thursday | July 25 – August 11, 2022 | $1,425
Full package discount for registering for both sessions: $2600
Camp Registration Fee: $50 per session (non-refundable)
Registration for returning campers and students enrolled in group classes for Fall 2021/Spring 2022 opens on Tuesday, March 22nd. Registration opens to the public on Tuesday, March 29th. Enrollment for camp closes June 7th at 5 PM ET. The full tuition payment is due no later than June 14th. For any campers that withdraw before the start of camp, the last day for a full tuition refund is June 14th; the last day for a 50% refund is June 20th. After June 20th, there will be no refund for camp tuition. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee per camper, per session. No camper is allowed to attend camp until full payment is made and all health forms have been received.
INCOME-BASED TUITION ASSISTANCE is available to households whose annual income is less than $50,000 annually. Those who qualify and apply in time will receive a 50% discount for tuition.
NYCHA Arts Initiative offers free tuition for NYCHA Residents in zip codes 10002, 10003, 10009, and 10038. A $50 registration fee per session is still required.
Tuition assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Only a limited number of camp spots will be reserved for qualifying households.
For Income-Based Tuition Assistance eligibility, each family is required to submit a federal income tax return or public assistance letter that reflects a registered camper as a dependent.
For NYCHA Arts Initiative eligibility, each family is required to submit one of the following:
- Current NYCHA lease that reflects registered student as a member of the household
- State ID and most recent tax return with matching address listing the student as a dependent
- State ID and a public assistance letter with matching address listing the student as a dependent
