Freedom of Expression: The Visual Voices of Henry Street Settlement

On view August 1 - September 28, 2025

Freedom of Expression features artwork by participants in two Henry Street Settlement programs: Older Adult Services and the Community Consultation Center (CCC) CONNECT Program.

The works on view were created in Painting with Girl Negron, Bead Art with Mary Yuen, and Self-Expression Through Art with Shanell Kitt.

Older Adult Services art classes enhance physical and mental well-being while fostering creativity, connections, and the freedom to express oneself. CCC CONNECT’s art workshops assist participants in adapting alternative, healthy methods of self-expression while encouraging them to create individual artworks that reflect their personal journeys, resilience, and commitment to healing.
