Exhibition Tour and Creative Writing Workshop

Join us for a guided tour of Long walk from the F train led by exhibition curators Camila Palomino and Joshua Lubin-Levy, followed by a generative writing workshop that invites you to source visual inspiration from art works on view, facilitated by poet and Abrons Arts Center teaching artist faculty Nadia Misir. Materials will be provided!

About Nadia Misir

Nadia Misir was born, raised and is still living in South Ozone Park, Queens, on Canarsie and Munsee Lenape land. She received her BA in English from SUNY Oswego and an MA in American studies from Columbia University. She also holds an MFA in fiction writing from Queens College, CUNY. Her writing has been published in Poetry, Kweli, Papercuts, The Margins, No, Dear Mag, and QC Voices. Her creative practice has been supported by fellowships and residencies from the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, Louis Armstrong House Museum, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, and Queens College, CUNY’s QCVoices. She has facilitated writing workshops in collaboration with the Queens Museum of Art, Guardians of Flushing Bay, South Asian Feminism(s) Alliance, Queens Memory, Reimagine, and Five Boro Story Project. She is in transit more often than she is at home.
