From Chinatown, with Love
Exhibition: Storefronts as Sites of Cultural Resistance
January 29–March 22, 2026
Everyday Chinatown: Storefronts as Sites of Cultural Resistance is an exhibition that explores interdependence and community support from Chinatown New York to Chinatown San Francisco. Presented as part of From Chinatown, with Love (FCWL) and designed by Midnight Project, featuring the Letterform Archive, Cynthia Yuan Cheng & Sophie Wang, and Singha Hon.
FCWL is a mutual aid initiative that supports Chinatown small businesses. Launched by The W.O.W. Project and Abrons Arts Center in partnership with lucky risograph, and Midnight Project, FCWL centers Manhattan Chinatown storefronts as sites of belonging and storytelling. Beginning on February 14, 2026, and while supplies last, patrons who spend $50 or more at participating businesses will receive one daily tear-off calendar designed by local artists and writers that celebrates the creativity and resilience of the lifeblood of the neighborhood: Chinatown small businesses.

About the W.O.W. Project
The W.O.W. Project is a women, non-binary, queer, trans-led, community-based initiative that works to sustain ownership over Chinatown Manhattan’s future by growing, protecting and preserving Chinatown’s creative culture through arts and activism. The W.O.W. Project envisions a future of Chinatown that centers young women and nonbinary youth in building intergenerational bridges of understanding, collective empowerment, and solidarity across Asian American communities and beyond. Their programs include artist residencies, youth programs and internships, public artworks and events, and mutual aid.
