Positive Deviance Presents: WHAT COMES AFTER

Positive Deviance is a community of cultural innovators who are living intentionally and designing a collective vision for the future. Positive Deviance rejects the narratives of disposability driving the (political) end of the pandemic and embraces our collective responsibility to build the future in the Pandemicene.

Through thoughtfully designed events, original storytelling, and community-driven initiatives, we're building an ecosystem that empowers creators to participate in public life consciously with health, safety, and equity at the forefront.

WHAT COMES AFTER features sets by DJ Queer Shoulders, rehearsal notice, Sunday Comes Afterwards, Saint Wilson, and Cleo Reed.

About the Artists

danilo machado is a poet, curator, and Leo also known as DJ Queer Shoulders. danilo has DJ’d as a part of gatherings and fundraisers with Print Center New York, Remote Access, The Shed, ART PAPERS, Crown Heights Mutual Aid, No, Dear, The People's Saturday School, among others. Ella Moore performs under the alias “Cleo Reed,” modeled after two ancestors. Born and raised in NYC and Uptown DC, Cleo creates under the musical influence of black underground sounds.

rehearsal notice (chiazo): rehearsal notice is the solo musical project of singer-songwriter chiazo. her musical journey began in school band rooms, where she honed her craft playing in wind ensembles. this time around, she’s honoring those roots by creating indie music that is heartfelt, ever evolving, and deliberately free from an over fixation on perfectionism.

Saint Wilson (Bryan Freedman): Saint Wilson, the project of singer-songwriter and producer Bryan Freedman, blends driving indie-rock and gazey sounds with melancholic folk-inspired lyricism. Performing with a rotating ensemble of collaborators, Saint Wilson observes and explores his relationship with love, death, religion, science, history, and connection. He is currently based in New York and maintains close ties to where he grew up in Pennsylvania. Saint Wilson's debut singles will be released throughout 2025, beginning with "Singapore, MI" out now.

Sunday Comes Afterwards (Stevonnie Ross): Sunday Comes Afterwards is Stevonnie Ross, just another nonbinary transfeminine folk/pop musician with a song in their heart and a ukulele in their hands. Their music features comedy, feelings, gender politics, and earworms. They’re a lifelong New Yorker who lives in Jersey City because the rent is too damn high. Their debut album, “I Want a Refund,” was produced by The Doubleclicks.
