DANCE NOW Family Reunion

October 7–7, 2021
7:30pm

DANCE NOW's 26th Season "Still Dancing Outside the Box" kicks off with the live & in-person DANCE NOW Family Reunion, an eclectic multi-generational gathering, created in collaboration with perennial host-with-the-most-pink-costumes TruDee (aka Deborah Lohse) and The DASH Academy co-directors Gregory Dolbashian and Lindsey Pettus. This one-night-only event will feature DN artists from the past, present, and future, such as Rourou Ye, TAKE Dance, Tatiana Desardouin, and other special guests. Also included on the program are alumni from Young Dancemakers Company and students of The DASH Academy performing original works inspired by, and in tribute to, past performers and choreographers previously presented by DN.

ABOUT

DANCE NOW (DN) offers an interdependent network of performance, creative development, and educational opportunities, serving a diverse roster of multi-generational artists. We provide dance makers with paid performance, commissioning, teaching and residency opportunities through five programs – DN Joe’s Pub (NY), DN Raw (NY), DN SteelStacks (PA), DN Silo (PA) and DN Boston (MA).

We have developed vital partnerships with like-minded arts organizations, colleges, universities and schools, that position us each year to present the work of over fifty new, emerging, established, and veteran innovators, directing seventy-five percent of our financial resources directly to these artists.

FUNDING

DANCE NOW is supported, in part, with funds from the NYSCA Restart Grant, Shuttered Venue Operators Grant from the Small Business Administration, The Arnhold Foundation, Harkness Foundation for Dance, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Mertz Gilmore Foundation, and The Sid/Rose Fund.
