Design and Build Props
Tuesdays, 5 – 6:30 PM
Ages 8-10
$493

Using a wide range of materials, tools, and techniques, Design and Build Props will explore ways of building objects that can transform a room into a theater or a person into a performer. Props will teach students how to design and build objects that are related to bodily actions, such as pushing, pulling, lifting, etc, while also emphasizing the performativity of these actions.  We will often begin with drawings and written ideas in order to understand how to translate two-dimensional brainstorms into three-dimensional realities.  In Design and Build Props, the objects we make will give us many opportunities to interact with our props, our ideas, and each other in surprising and inventive ways.
