How can we learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and ethics in practical and imaginative ways? In AI & Ethics, participants will connect the philosophical origins of ethics, the exploitation of art/artists, current technological advances, and cultural concerns. Through activities such as mock-debate, mind-mapping, and manifesto creation, this course will consider how AI and other recent technological advancements are affecting labor, laws, contracts, intellectual property, bias, surveillance, and creative processes.
AI & Ethics will be held virtually.

About Cedric Tai
I am an un-disciplinary artist and educator born in Detroit, currently in Los Angeles (Tongva/Chumash/Kizh land.) I have K-12 art education certification from Michigan State University and have taught at a few colleges and art museums.
My own art (see: CedricTai.com) is about neurodivergent experience, labor, and politics. I've partnered with neuroscientists, academics from critical psychiatry, artist collectives, disability justice social media influencers, and somatic therapists, to co-create accessible resources particularly around mental health and queer anti-capitalist solidarity.
A friend remarked I'm 'Pathologically Curious', a lovely way to describe how my Autism/ADHD re-frames shame into wonder, absurdity, meaningful challenges, and joyful interdependence.

Abrons offers tuition assistance to any student whose household makes under $50,000 annually. Through our NYCHA Arts Initiative, classes are FREE for all NYCHA residents living in zip codes 10002, 10003, 10009, and 10038.
