Abrons Arts Center is committed to creating a space where we work together to ensure each others’ safety as an artistic community. Whether you are a teacher, student, performer, audience member, artist or visitor, you are part of our community. Abrons Arts Center has laid out the following set of policies by which everyone entering our building must abide to ensure the health and safety of all.

Thank you for working with us and following these policies. Failure to follow these policies will result in you being asked to leave the building.

These protocols may change at any time based on changes in legal requirements, changes in guidance from the CDC, city or state mandates, changes in the severity of the pandemic in our area, or other factors.  Abrons Arts Center will endeavor to give as much notice as possible about these changes, but please understand that these changes may not be entirely under the Center’s control and are subject to city, state, and federal regulations.

Current Policies for Everyone
(Updated Information and Policies as of July 5, 2022)

Vaccination
All audience members and visitors, 12 years of age and older, must show proof of full vaccination—two weeks following the final dose—of the Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson or Johnson vaccine (two doses for Moderna and Pfizer, one dose for Johnson and Johnson) in order to be on site. Booster shots are highly encouraged for those who are eligible to prevent the spread of existing and new variants. Proof of vaccination and date of final dose will be required upon entry.

Visitors who are 11 years old and younger do not need to show proof of vaccination.

Proof of Vaccination by all members 12 years and older of your party will be required.

Valid forms of proof of vaccination include: Vaccination card, photo of vaccination card that clearly show your name and dates of vaccination with matching photo ID, the NYC COVID Safe app, or the NYS Excelsior Pass

Vaccination Exemptions for Visitors:  Abrons Arts Center is not accepting any medical or religious exemptions from the vaccination policy. To discuss the possibility of reasonable alternative accommodations, please reach out to jharper@henrystreet.org a minimum of two weeks in advance.

COVID 19 Alert-Level-Based Policies

Abrons Arts Center is basing its policies on the CDC’s COVID-19 Data Tracker, to make it easier for everyone to understand what our policies are as case rates in the city change.

There are four colors corresponding to the level of community spread, and these correspond to different actions and policies at Abrons:

Green (Low)

  • Full Vaccination required for everyone 12 and up
  • Masks only required for public-facing staff, and for attendees of indoor performances

Yellow (Medium)

  • Full Vaccination required for everyone 12 and up
  • Masks required for everyone for all indoor activities
  • Masks NOT required for outdoor activities

Orange (High)

  • Full Vaccination required for everyone 12 and up
  • Masks required for everyone for all indoor and outdoor activities
  • All performers must rapid test each day before performing unmasked

Red (Very High)

  • Full Vaccination required for everyone 12 and up
  • Masks required for all indoor and outdoor activities
  • All performers must rapid test each day before performing regardless of masking

Masks
N95, KN95 masks, or double masking are highly recommended. Bandanas and neck gaiters are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, and are not considered acceptable forms of face coverings by the Center. Masks are available for free at the front desk for anyone who needs one.

Please note: As masking guidance from local, state and federal policies evolve, we will continue to notify visitors of additional policy details and updates on our masking requirements.

Chaperoning Students
All students requiring supervision must be accompanied by a vaccinated chaperon for pick up and drop off from Abrons classes. In the event that a parent/guardian is unvaccinated and not permitted to enter the building, the student must be joined by another vaccinated adult for pick up and drop off, and all other activities in the Abrons Arts Center building. Abrons Arts Center staff is not responsible for chaperoning students from the lobby to classrooms.

Refund Policy
Any patrons who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19 can and will receive a full refund. Patrons can request a refund up until the event’s start time but not after the event has occurred. If any event is canceled due to shifting COVID-19 guidelines, all ticket holders will be refunded in full and given notice before the event’s start date.
