[@ABRONS SERIES] Happy Family Night Market
Happy Family Night Market (HFNM) is an annual event that celebrates the Asian diaspora through food, art, and education, co-founded in 2018 by Phoebe Tran and Angeline Gragasin. The event features food, film, and music festivals, public art installations, improv comedy, educational workshops, panel discussions, and a marketplace. All programs serve the mission to deepen knowledge of and engagement with Asian heritage, challenge preconceived / colonial notions of Asia, and support emerging Asian artists, scholars, chefs, and social entrepreneurs.
HFNM would like to acknowledge the generous support of our 2019 partners and collaborators at Project Inkblot, Model for Change, The Abrons Arts Center, Isometric Studio, Asian American Arts Alliance, Korean American Community Foundation, The New School, The Asian American Feminist Collective, Nutshell Projects, Smallhold, Pernod Ricard, DoorDash, Turner Asia NY, Dang Foods, Red Boat Fish Sauce, Asahi Beer U.S.A., Happy Valley Meat Co., Sanzo, Square, the 2nd Council District, the 7th local NYC precinct, and Henry Street Settlement. Support for “Not Your Token Asian” is provided by Turner Asia NY. Roho Compost is the official Compost Program Partner of Happy Family Night Market. Happy Family Night Market is a sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
